Attorneys?’ Joint Statement ?– Read by Alan Tolkoff

There are certain issues about Christmas Tree Lane (?“CTL?”) that have been brought to light by various individuals.

Everyone acknowledges that this is a very important event to many of us as well as to the community. However, there are differences in opinion as to how the CTL event should be handled in the future.

The Wrigley Association Board of Directors has NEVER suggested that the event itself be discontinued or changed in any way. The issue is whether the Association?’s CTL Committee should remain under the corporate umbrella of the Wrigley Association ?– or if it would be wiser for the CTL committee to operate as a separate legal entity that maintains close ties with the Wrigley Association.

It is very important to all involved, including the Board, that the integrity and reputation of the Wrigley Association be maintained. To that end, the parties are in the process of working out their differences and
hope to come to an acceptable resolution without harming the Association or the CTL event itself.

Having said all of that, no one is in a position to vote on or to present any issues to the membership about CTL issues at this time. No debate will take place and no questions can be answered.

We can tell you that proposed amendments to update the Bylaws are being drafted and will be reviewed very shortly.

As your Board, we are happy to consider any objective constructive comments and suggestions regarding the Association and/or CTL. Please keep in mind that our first and foremost concern is the Association as a whole. Everyone has agreed to proceed in an orderly and professional manner.

Certain individuals will now make a statement regarding their thoughts about CTL. Thereafter, those of you who wish to be heard on any CTL issue will be given the floor in an orderly manner to any objective constructive thoughts.
