February 2, 2009
1. CALL TO ORDER at 7:15 P.M.
A. BOARD MEMBER ROLE CALL ?–
Present: AMAT, BEAVER, CARLTON , GRAEBER, GREENFELD, HERMAN, McDONALD, McKIERNAN, VANDEPAS
Absent: None
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
M/S/C to approve the minutes of January 5, 2009
?• The Wrigley Association gave a thank you to Tim Patton, staff person for Tonia Reyes Urange. Tim will be working for Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal.
3. COUNCIL DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. Tonia Reyes Uranga ?– 7th District
There will be an EWaste Drive ?– 2/28
Side Walk Repair on Oregon Ave is taking place.
There will be a Neighborhood Leaders Meeting on February 4th
b. Dee Andrews ?– 6th District (John Edmond gave the report)
There will be a Town Hall Meeting in February, last Tuesday of the month
Thank you for all the help with MLK Peace week
4. LBPD West Division Update ?– Lt Bob Smith
Lt Smith gave an update on the crime statistic for the year
5. Election Committee for 2 Board Members ?– Danny & David
2 spots to fill, 1 from members
Deadline for nomination is 2 weeks before the election
6. WRIGLEY ASSOCIATION DISCUSSION ?– Annie Greenfeld
a. Goals of general membership
?• Parents Night Out: Wrigley Assoc. provides babysitting services for several hours. Could partner with a church or other group for this. Possible nominal charge. Good opportunity to market to prospective new members with kids.
?• Form a Business Improvement District along Pacific & Willow with Wrigley Association member assistance; meet with the Central Project Area Committee
?• Rummage Sale: Be careful about what merchandise we accept; add local musicians and make it an event
?• Historic home tour
?• Home beautification award?—each month or each quarter, awarded by the association
?• More meetings devoted to history and historic homes
?• Farmer?’s market in Wrigley: The 7th district office can help us with this if we identify three lots with parking for the location
?• Community garden
?• Event at landscape project, possibly a chili cookoff
?• Extend landscape project north along the river. The city owns much of this land.
?• Christmas Tree Lane
?• Partnering with local restaurants for ?“Wrigley Night Out?—A Taste of Wrigley?”
