A community garden is a piece of land gardened by a group of people. Community gardens encourage an urban community?¿½s food security. They allow citizens to grow their own food and donate any excess grown.

Community gardens combat two forms of alienation that plague modern urban life, by bringing urban gardeners closer in touch with the source of their food, and by breaking down isolation by creating a social community. It has been found that active communities experience less crime and vandalism.

In the spirit of Victory Gardens of the past and in conjunction with Long Beach Organic, Wrigley Is Going Green and the Wrigley Neighborhood Food Exchange we are proud to announce the implementation of the first phase of a Wrigley Community Garden.

Contact Adriana at urbanharvest@hotmail.com and sign up today to reserve your community garden plot that will provide you with access to fresh produce and promote green space in Wrigley while fostering a sense of community and connection to the environment.
