In the summer of 2005, we suddenly and un-expectantly found ourselves traveling across Washington State, to the small town of Lamont.
We arrived at the old Potts Farm, 7 miles out on Potts Road, to find an old metal-sided Horse Harness storeroom, turned furniture repair shop, full of rats, old lumber, bare floors, and a leaking roof.
Thanks to Mellanie's creative mind, Phil's medically-limited physical input and the efforts of wonderful family and friends, the old barn wood under the metal has been rediscovered, the roof has been replaced, the side-shop has been cleaned and rebuilt, and the interior is a pleasant, peaceful, cozy cabin-for-two. There's also a new 20x40 garden, green lawn, blooming flowers, and a special 4x6 lettuce-garden box now, surrounding the Haas outside.
