Our Family Portrait

We're a family of four who has been in Greenfield Crossing for several years now. Time flies. We enjoy fishing at the pond, catching and releasing turtles in dip nets, feeding the ducks, and bike riding through the subdivision in late evening when it is cool. We know and love (no exaggeration there) our neighbors!

Hobbies

Dad likes to hunt and boat with our son, play sports, cheer on LSU in football, and work out. Mom enjoys painting in oils, writing, reading, swimming with the kids, gardening, and seeing a good movie or play. Our daughter is at home creating artwork, writing, swimming, playing on the computer, and especially reading. Our son loves soccer and track, hunting, watching wildlife, and drawing. Elvis, the cat, likes sunbathing in his window perch while McGyver or Mac, in short, prefers tree-climbing and bird-watching. As for the dogs, Josie likes to make a mad rush to the pond for swimming while Samson is a homebody who would rather have his belly rubbed. All of us value private time together and with extended family. We have a passion for the great outdoors, camping, and cooking over a fire.

Some Down Home Southern Fun

There is Tunica hills that we love to hike. Nearby St. Francisville has many antebellum bed and breakfast inns, hilly terrain, winding roads, and antiques to explore. Try staying at The Myrtles (supposedly haunted) for Halloween spooks! We did! Not too far outside LA is Percy Quinn State Park in Mississippi--nice lake, trails, cabins if needed, golf, and pool.

Closer to home is Bluebonnet Swamp, the Planetarium, Alligator Bayou, the Amite River, McGee Creek (canoeing), Tickfaw State Park(camping), Blue Bayou Waterpark/Dixie Landing, Mall of Louisiana, and Tanger Oulet Mall.

Audubon Zoo in N.O. can't be beat, but the Baton Rouge Zoo will do on short notice. Aquarium of the Americas is worth the ride; while you're near the French Quarter stop at Cafe Masperos on Decatur St. for seafood poboys and Cafe du Monde for sweet beignets and cafe au lait.
