I moved into the Baker Farm at Wythe Creek neighborhood in the fall of 2001. I work at Northrop Grumman (formerly Newport News Shipbuilding) in the IT department.
Originally from Buffalo, NY, I went to the College of William and Mary, after which I moved to Atlanta, GA, where I lived for many years. I returned to this area to be closer to other family members in Virginia, and because I always liked the area.
I don't know many of you well, and the only reason I've met some of you is that you've been out in your yard when I was walking my dogs. In fact, some of you know my dog's name but not mine, and vice-versa.
After my large black and white dog, Jake, died in December 2004, I continued to walk my dog Pumpkin every day, but with the cold, we didn't see many others on our walks. So it wasn't until spring, 3 months later, that some of my neighbors found out he had died.
That made me realize that we don't always communicate very well amongst each other!
This inspired me to create a web site for the neighborhood. Waiting until I happen to see you on one of my walks is not the best way to keep up with people. So now we have a place where we can inform and stay informed. I hope you will make good use of it.
