6888 Buckhorn Road

Those are tortolusa trees (native to California) at the start of the long drive leading to the house. We bought the first lots in Buckfield, building our home in 1992 on lot #2. The combined 110 acres of our Buckfield holdings include pastures, livestock (emu) pens, and miles of riding and hiking trails available for use (upon request) by our neighbors.

Background

Tom and Diane were married in Pittsburgh, PA in 1964, and traveled the country/world with the US Navy for twenty-two years. Tom, a submarine and surface warefare officer and navy diver, retired in 1986. Tom and Diane then started an engineering consulting business which closed its doors (way too much solo travel) in 2004. Diane retired from the US Postal Service where she worked as Postmaster of Adams Run. They have two sons, both computer/software engineers, the greatest Daughters-in-Law, and seven grandchildren (five all-sport all-star boys and two princesses).

Plans for the Future

Tom and Diane plan to grow old(er) in Buckfield, using the farm as a home base from which to travel. The recently purchased a 30-ft Willard trawler and, with Diane as Navigator, cruised her from North Carolina to their new dock at the Harborage in Ashley Marina. They travel to Florida each spring to take in a few Grapefruit League ball games (this year was Dodgertown in Vero Beach). Next winter, Tom has his sights set on the Bahamas for a couple of months ... Navigator and God willing.
