The deadline for snow removal reimbursement applications (for snow removal services conducted within residential developments or communities, outside of incorporated areas) is November 30. The Snow Removal Reimbursement Policy, created by HB 544, became effective July 1, 1996. Local leaders of community civic associations, neighborhood alliances, or homeowners associations are asked to submit completed applications to the appropriate DelDOT District Office prior to the deadline in order to qualify for reimbursement. DelDOT's snow operations run on a predetermined schedule designed to allow most people to travel as safely as possible. Primary thoroughfares, including interstates and dual highways, such as I-95, Route 40, Route 202, Route 13, Route 1 and Route 113 are cleared first.
All transit routes throughout the state receive primary status as well. This provides citizens with alternatives to driving during snow and ice storms. Secondary roads, like Route 404, Route 8, and Old Baltimore Pike, are plowed next, followed by Tertiary or local roads.

Maximum weight on any one axle: 20,000 lbs.
