We live in the Bronx area covered by the 47th pct for over 40 years. For the past 10 years our neighborhood has become a total horror. We are prisoners in our homes because of the drug dealers and the LOUD OUT OF CONTROL MUSIC. We attend the 47th Pct council meetings every month faithfully and all we hear is the BS from our precinct. We constantly ask for help and none is given. This summer has been hell for us with the noise.
We call 311 as instructed to do and no one shows up. Outdoor parties go on until 3:00 & 4:00 a.m. in the mornings with live bands and DJ's and nothing is done. Our elderly parents are deprived of their sleep and their illness gets worse instead of better. The noise shatters their nerves and their blood pressure goes completely out of control. When will the City of New York understand that the 311 is not working. All we get is a service number and nothing is ever done. The parties turn into a block party and people are everywhere in front of our homes smoking pot & drinking leaving their garbage for us to have to clean up the next day. The parties are so out of control with crowds of people we are afraid that one day guns will be fired and one of us will get hurt. IS THAT WHAT IT TAKES FOR US TO GET A RESPONSE TO OUR CALL? The parties are a place for the drug dealers to sell their merchandise and continue to takeover our neighborhood.
