There are hearings coming up in Congress before the Task Force on Health Coverage. This is a committee working with Senator Ted Kennedy's Health Care legislation which has not yet been introduced. It is a fact finding initiative.

I have been asked to help find individuals from RI who are under-insured. In other words, they have a high deductible therefore they may not be getting appropriate screening tests, or because of job loss they have COBRA but find that the high cost of this coverage is a challenge.

sure do...me - I have a bit of a deductible but not thousands. Some buddies are really with high numbers and the city and school employees complain about paying a coinsurance of a few bucks.

They really have it easy when you add their privileges and non payment for stuff and the 180 day work year they have...

Maybe we need to gather a few of all sorts to send a note or testify as to a better solution to prevention of more serious problems because we can not afford to pay the basics not covered before the deductible is over

Good points to make and yet there are a number of people with thousands of dollars for deductibles...so all this needs to pass on to by Kennedy and others as they move slower than needed as already seen
