Mrs. Mae Blanchard on Verdun is the very proud grandmother of Aja Robinson, who was selected from among more than 10,000 children ages 12 and under who entered the Kraft "Blue Box Kids" contest nationwide.
Heretofore Olympic and professional athletes have graced the covers of Wheaties boxes such as Mickey Mantle, Sugar Ray Robinson and Kristi Yamaguchi.
Aja is on the cover of selected boxes of Kraft Macaroni. She is eleven years old, a sixth grader and one of twelve boys and girls competitively chosen nationally for this Kraft honor.
Her mother, Rossalyn Blanchard Robinson happened to see an advertisement for auditions and took both daughters Aja and Katia to their local supermarkets the very next day. Her daughters were not given any special prepartion for the competition.
All contestants had to communicate why they love Kraft Macaroni and Cheese through rhymes, drawings and/or short stories. Aja did all three. Lynn reports that her daughters are requesting more Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for dinner these days.
The grand prizes benefittd the entire family...trip to New York City for a taping session (for which grandmother joined the family), a trip to Disney World as well as a $10,000.00 scholarship.
Lynn is a Transmission Electronics Engineer and proud dad William is also an Engineer. The family resides in Detroit, Michigan.
