Our purpose for organizing initially was to stop the deterioration of our neighborhood and reverse its decline from low income back to its initial middle income status.
We also needed help in getting vacant lots cleaned up and abandoned cars removed from the area.
As the Association grew other concerns were addressed such as: crime and drugs, inadequate playground equipment for our two (2) parks, the ditch at Warren Park and the need for a fence around it; the need for a Community Center and Library and the utilization of the Memphis Depot for this purpose; solicitation of business owners to clean up their parking lots, paint their buildings, replace old signs and landscape their grounds; security in the community and the need for a roving patrol.
