IT'S EASY TO FORGET!
It seems as though we age we slowly forget ALL OF THE SIMPLE pleasures we had when WE WERE CHILDREN ourselves.
Recently we have had the pleasure of hearing children outside, playing laughing and having great times; while causing NO TROUBLE!!!
The COMMON AREAS are supposed to be for the TOTAL USE AND ENJOYMENT of the RESIDENTS and invited guests if applicable.
Had I known that the rules for those areas could so easily be altered I definately would not have chosen this community.
I have a son who has up until recently not only enjoyed the use of the "common areas"
Additionally he has met some wonderful peers who also have enjoyed the use of these areas. RECENTLY they have been approached by other residents and advised that they are not to be playing in these areas, nor are they to be riding bikes, skateboards, skating, scooters, etc. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH SOON WALKING IN HIGH HEELS OR BOOTS WILL BE PROHIBITED because of the clicking sound they make on the concrete.(sarcasm in my last comment)
After the issue was disputed, only one week later some how magically a new sign has appeared "NO SKATEBOARDING, SCOOTERS,......."ETC this sign is posted at the entrance to the property.
NO notice was posted prior to this.
It's just shocking and sad to see how far ADULTS/ELDERS will go to prevent smiles, fun, playing, and enjoyment of the outdoors, because they CONSIDER the NOISES of these types of activities IRRITATING.
The CC&R's don't really stipulate any sort of specific regulations on the common areas; with the exception of the obvious. Regardless it seems as though now a days we all would be happy and encourage the innocent activities that these children have now been restricted from.
WITH THAT IN MIND:
It is easy to see why no one is out enjoying the property, as I simply took some trash to the dumpster, in which I was STARED DOWN by a small group of residents, with one of them demanding to know if I lived here and demaned to know where. I responded in an manner which was FIRM but not RUDE. The rules are being taken to the extreme, and seems as though they are NOT ONLY DISCRIMINATORY BUT NOW TURNING TOWARDS HARASSMENT type encounters with other residents.
ITS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS WHERE YOU ALWAYS WONDER, DON'T PEOPLE REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE WHEN THEY WERE CHILDREN. BUT I CAN ADMIT MYSELF; THAT IT IS EASY TO FORGET; BUT DEFINATELY AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO REMEMBER.
There are adult communities available to those of us that may not want to put up with children. OR THERE IS .......HERE.....WHERE WE LIVE!!!....and to those of us that feel we are above others OUR MOTTO SEEMS TO BE " WE WILL ENSURE that NO ONE ENJOYS WHAT WE DON'T WANT THEM TOO, WHILE WE WILL ENJOY WHATEVER WE WANT!"
Hopefully those of you that live by that motto are pleased and 100% satisfied with the NEW "NO PLAYING OR ENJOYING COMMON AREAS" type SIGNS you are so vindictively having posted!!!! Im 100% positive it gave you a temporary feeling of defeat, which will go away and you will soon move on to another complaint.
IM SORRY YOU NEVER ENJOYED CHILDHOOD!!! it's something we all DESERVE, depending upon who you ask.
