Alta Vista Neighborhood Association

 May 25, 2010.  My husband and myself went down to protest are appraised value on our property in alta vista today. As usual we where given the standard treatment. We were not as successful in our quest as we would have like to have been. We had all our information on our property as well as other comparable properties around us. When it came down to the apparaiser to present his case for the value, he was using properties in our area as well as properties that border olmos park, i.e. E. Melrose Place, E. Norwood. These properties are no where in the immediate vicinity of our property or Alta Vista. He also use a term called comparative equity. What does that mean? Has anyone had a similar experience? Does anyone know what comparative equity means in terms of residential real estate. Any information would be help full. Thank you!!
