The City of Tucson, elected officials and neighbors have long recognized graffiti as a
negative element in our community. The City has fimded graffiti removal for many years and we thank those neighborhood groups who have assisted us in this effort.
As of September 15, the City of Tucson began a new contract with GPC, Graffiti Protective Coatings. This company participated in a rigorous bid competition to work in our city. GPC has worked in other communities in California for 16 years and came to us with very
There is a big difference between our contract with GPC and others with whom we have worked. That difference is that we no longer require permission from the property owner before removing graffiti. GPC's contact with the City of Tucson provides additional insurance as well as indemnification that protects your property and the City.
What does. this mean? This means that GPC can aggressively and pro-actively remove graffiti before it is reported to us. They will also continue to remove graffiti that is reported to the City.
Please remember these guidelines:
?• Feel free to report graffiti on your own or others' properties. ?• If you see graffiti in progress, call 91 1.
?• If you see graffiti, report it to 792-CITY (2489).
?• You may also report directly via email at graffiti(2Dtuesonaz.go
?• Neither the City nor the contractor accept partially or unused spray paint or any unwanted paint. Paint may be disposed of through Household Hazardous Waste at 2440 W. Sweetwater Drive. Friday and Saturday 8 am - noon.
?• You no longer have to submit a permission form to have graffiti removed.
