I have just finished reading the first association newsletter, and I have to say that I was more than a little upset with the article regarding the golf carts. Mr. Haromson's article was an unsucessful attempt to justify the board spending $ 5000 of OUR money on something that was not needed. I ask other neighbors, have you noticed any decrease in the number of CCR vioations? Why can't the board use their own vehicles to ''patrol''?? I suggest Mr. Harmonson gets in one of the golf carts and checks out the playground equipment in our neighborhood. As a mother of a young son, I have visited Kingswood Park, Roseview, & Dietz Crane, they all have nice big playgrounds. Our playgrounds are pathetic in comparison. $ 5000 could have bought some decent playground equipment, instead of expensive toys for over zealous whistle blowers. I am sure my neighbor, mother of 4, is more upset about the lack of playgrounds, than if I leave my garbage can out an extra day.

Golf in west point?

Welcome to west point! No positive direction here at all. Sure the money could have been spent on playground improvements but instead we need the token golf carts to look lazy and old like sun city. Not 1 but 2! Bicycles would have been out of the question because there powered by the users and how can they put a price on that and justify each $5.00 rotation of the pedal to the Home Owners? So they ram the golf carts down our throats and the cost to operate and maintain them and make them street legal. Next they will be telling us they need some titanium clubs (mark is that the correct spelling?) to use on the patrols. There are so many other ways to patrol the area but they feel the carts are the best way. Nothing like making that big brown cloud around AZ bigger. Take a deep breath one morning outside. I've heard from others when they see the carts that they will be chased and given a piece of their minds. That is a little barbaric to me but just goes to show you what this ordeal is coming to. You see. according to the people who feel we need the carts we don't need a playground. They will keep the cars off the streets so the children can be seen playing in traffic. What is wrong with us can't we see the way they want us to live? All i can say is when they drive around in these carts they better be listening for ''FOUR!''

You wrote that very well...have you thought about running for District Representative? You don't seem to have a problem complaining about problems, but what are you doing about them? I've always believed that a better neighborhood begins with each homeowner setting the example for other's to follow. Thanks for the comments.

Everyone is always saying how we all need to solve these problems ourselves. I didn't ask to be mayor or district rep. why should we have to do anything? I'm to busy making a living / raising a family to pay the people who should be working on all these things. How much more can we contribute? Nothing is free in this life not even the air we breathe. I follow all the rules, watch out for my neighbors, etc. People are contributing by complaining / alerting every one of problems. What more do you want? You want us to discourage people from parking on the streets or leaving there garbage cans out? I wish I had the time you must have to pick over every post and make corrections. I have just enough time to troll / agitate you then it is back to work for me. From experience whenever you take problems in to your own hands there is always someone there that sounds like you wanting to press charges and sue for damages when things don't go right. I'm the first to admit you don't want me roaming the streets helping out. Some of us aren?’t cut out to be public servants or have the social skills to kiss a$$. Call me a monster if you want but I know my limits and I avoid reaching them. I rather vent my complaints in a place like this. In my opinion (and maybe yours by now) I?’m doing everyone a favor this way and there is no trouble.
On another note: If the HOA isn?’t going to do anything about the playground area I?’m willing to throw some money at the cause. There isn?’t much for the kids to do around here but get in to trouble. Someone has to do something for them. Maybe some donations for some improvements and more supervision from parents would help.
