Team:
You may have received notice of the upcoming NPU meeting on Oct 1st. We are officially on the agenda to give a presentation on the NWCS.
Do we have any volunteers to make the presentation? Chrissie will be out of town, and I can't think of anyone who I know would be willing to speak before the group.
Personally, I think we should keep it simple and to the point. Andrew Kaiser's ''Statement of Community Preference'' could pretty well serve as the presentation. This meeting would be an excellent opportunity to get signatures on the statement/petition.
Let's not go into this unprepared.
I have plans for a meeting with Silvia Greer of GRTA to present our community's concerns. She has promised to bring along some of the project design team to answer our questions. Once the date is set, I plan to invite Felicia Moore and our NPU Chairman, and of course as many folks from our community (who agree with us) as I can get. My tentative date is Oct 15 @ 7:00 pm.
This is a private audience with GRTA, so let's make the most of it. Hopefully, this will be our chance to demand that they take the CSX line off the table. If we can point to the Fulton Co Commission's opposition, and support from our NPU in the form of signatures on the petition, I think we can convince mighty GRTA that we are serious.
I'll post this letter on the discussion board (labled ''Talk About It'') on the web site:

Please post your comments there, including ideas/volunteers for the NPU presentation.
Thanks for reading,
Kevin Baker
