Here are some comments from Paul Mowrey to update us and more to come.- Hello All, The Pidge Tavern was located at the corner of Pidge Street and Pawtucket AVenue. A stop on the way from Proviidence to Boston. The building was built around mid 1700s, I believe George Washington stopped there. The complete history is on the PSP Calendar for 198-. The bottom line is that the building was around into the late 1930s, it was sketched in 1933 and then razed for the builidng now on the site, a tire company. Calendar text says that the interior was saved. I will get the calendar and give a more complete description over the weekend. Paul. |
