Hello Neighbors,

I just spoke with Joan Maril (1 of 4 on the PW landscape committee). She told me that the committee has not meet since it was set up some months ago at the last Park West annual meeting. A number of the committee members were out of town for some months.

They plan on meeting next month.

HERE'S THE BAD NEWS: Also, the Park West Board (still a majority of Hammond's Homes votes) made the decision to give another contract to Susan Hoover in August 2002 that will last until August 2003. They did this because they said they had NO COMPLAINTS about Susan Hoover (Circle C Landscape). Now this is real frustrating to me because I know I sent more than 1 complaint myself.

The committee plans to formulate a list of what a Landscape Service must provide. This includes sending each one of us in Park West a survey, so we can let them know our needs.

bad news

Thanks, Sal for the contact info. I forwarded to Joan Maril a long letter I wrote to Susan/Denise a week ago that has yet to get a response (what else is new?). One has to notice that the plantings in the public areas get pruned and replaced when dead, but the residents don't get the same service, even when we pay extra to have our back yard done. Many of us have time or physical constraints that prevent us from gardening, which is a big part of why we are in this community in the first place. Maybe if the committee can work within the system this year, we can ditch the present service next August if they haven't shaped up by then. Hope springs eternal, even if grass doesn't.
PS I hope in the quest for green grass we can stay with natural processes as much as possible. The chemicals used by ChemLawn are irritating to asthmatics and others.

Residents,

Now is the time to email our landscape committee with any past issues, problems, or suggestions. Karla, I also have not had luck with Susan Hoover responding to my emails.

Joan is collecting all input for the committee meeting in a few weeks. There are many of us that are not happy with no responses, no promised regular updates at our doors, brown patched grass, and plain misinformation from Susan Hoover. This is a service you pay for. We need everyone to contact Joan.

ALSO: In the last few months I noticed that a number of homes built this year have a new dead or dying tree in the front yard. I believe you have only 1 year (from closing) to contact Susan for a FREE replacement. Again, All emails to Susan should be also be sent to our Committee. Joan will keep a record to prove you attempted to contact the landscape service.

Your Neighbor,
Sal
