I am still collecting Proxies for the Circle C board of directors elections on Wed, March 24th.

The deadline for Proxy voting is TUESDAY, March 23rd, this is a new change, to give the staff more time to collect and count the votes.

You can still vote in person at the CCHOA members meeting, but you had better come early, because voting and turnout will be heavy.

Meeting starts early this year, at 6:30pm.

The meeting agenda is printed on the front of your Circle C Proxy. If you have lost your Proxy or already threw it away (many have done so, because it looked like other corporate junk mail) - you can still get a duplicate at the CCHOA office, in person. If you have never been to the office or you weren't aware that it moved last year, please note that it is in a corner of the Child Development Center (CDC) building, next to the mailcenter. Drive over to the pool, park in the back somewhere, and walk to the mail center. You will see the glass doors. Ask for a replacement Proxy and ballot, fill it out, and leave it there.

MAKE SURE YOUR BALLOT is secruely stapled to the PROXY, or they can't count your vote.

Better yet, sign your PROXY to me, or a trusted candidate for one of teh director positions, and ask them to come get your proxy.

We have teams in the area picking up proxies every day. Just leave it under your door mat.

No need for the ballot, if you sign your proxy to someone else. Your votes will just be added to their's.

I'm your block captain in Park West and I'm happy to pick up and deliver your proxy for you.

The members prevailed

The CCHOA members now have 6 new directors serving Circle C Ranch's HOA. It required hundreds of hours of hard work, research, planning, and many weeks of legal pressure to get an election, free of director's unfair influence in the Newsletters and even the nominations process.

The members prevailed, although the foot work was accomplished by less than 20 of your neighbors.

The voter turn out was terrible - out of over 3000 houses, less than 500 bothered to vote in the 2004 annual election (an most of those votes were by proxy). Only 200 people attended the meeting in person. They could have swung the vote either way, if they only knew. I can't imagine why any home owner paying $400 a year in annual assessments would not want to vote, or even pass their votes on with a proxy to someone willing to vote for them, but there you have it. We offically live in a dying community, where apath has taken the place of optomism and promise.

This is a telling story, because Park West didn't turn out to vote, either. I hope that the Park West HOA has more to look forward to this year. Last year, only a 20 people showed up (20 out of 200 in this neighborhood). We'd better care, this HOA will be in our hands in less than a year from now. Meanwhile, Whilshire Homes isn't going to invest another red cent here, because nobody cares to act.

You want a pool in Park West ?
You want a hiking trail connected to me park ?
You want lights in the mail centers ? You want street lights ?
You want to keep the streets jammed with cars ?
You want better landscaping ?

Well, it isn't going to happen if we continue ignoring the builder. He can easily ignore one or two or three of us.

It's not your HOA, yet, but once it is, it will be too late to act on many of those things you ask for last year and the year before. Wilshire is just going waltz right out the gate and never look back.
