A friend of mine lives a block from
this intersection, and recently sat
thru 7 signal cycles to make her turn.
Probably many of you have noticed the
construction, but not be aware of the
timetable. Go to the Parkwest home site
and look under community pages, then
click on the ALERT link posted there
to see a memo on the construction--
Will posted this for our use. The
next step is work on Wm Cannon between
Westgate and Brodie. The traffic will
be restricted to one lane in each
direction for up to 7 months! Stay
away from the area if possible.

Paving to occur at Wm. Cannon/Brodie intersection; lanes reduced

Dear Merchants and Residents,

Beginning the week of January 13, lanes will be temporarily reduced at the Wm. Cannon/Brodie Lane intersection during the daytime for paving operations. Crews will work during off-peak hours (9 a.m. and 4 p.m.). The work is expected to take about a week.

If temperatures remain warm, the contractor may be able to extend his daytime work into the early evening hours. In that case, crews will break at 4 p.m. for the evening peak traffic period before returning to work thereafter. Working the early evening hours will expedite the paving operation.

Officers will be present at the intersection to facilitate traffic flow during the paving operations. Please drive cautiously and expect delays.

Paving is the final step for the intersection. Once paved, the intersection will be striped and reopened to traffic.

Construction crews will then begin the work of reconstructing Wm. Cannon between Westgate and Brodie. They will work first on the north side of the road while two-way traffic (one lane in each direction) moves on the south side.

We still expect the reconstruction of Wm. Cannon to take about 7 months.
