Next month, we are going to be allowed to send additional members to sit on the Park West HOA board.

Why ? To get familiar with the organization and responsibilities, which we will take over sometime next year.

Who? Good question. We should start thinking about who should represent us. They will probably be the best bets for elected board members, when that time comes.

Issues ? Well, farnkly, it looks like the biggest decision that they have to make is what to have for lunch. To my knowledge, the Park West board is a very informal, once a year luncheon, where the developers agree that they don't think they need to commit to any more improvement to our roads, sidewalks, street lights, mail center, or gates. They are a business, after all, and they need to limit their involvement and get out of here before it costs then another nickel. At least, that's the way they have been acting.

Remember, these losers haven't published any board meeting minutes or the mintues for our annual HOA meeting (which was a total waste of time where they did nothing for 90 minutes and left).

We also need to get a new property management service. Goodwin isn't responsive and they only deal with us during normal office hours. If that gate gets jammed after 5pm, they won't lift a finger to answer the phone or email or pager, because it's not an emergency. All they really do for us is coolect the HOA dues and dump them in a bank account. We should have a member here in Park West do that for us and let our board take care of the occassional duties in more timely manner. I'm not opposed to paying someone in Park West to do that work, either.

Think we'll ever get a trail cut to the back 4 acres we own ??? Don't count on Wilshire to do it !!
New BOD and then some

The BOD and Goodwin just are not doing their job. Someone from one of those groups should be looking around the neighborhood every once and awhile looking out for deed restriction violations. Now I will be the first to admit some of the restrictions are over done, but simple things like having home owner vehicles always parked in the street make the whole place look like crap.
I met a man who works for a property management company for another subdivision and he said they make routine checks and send out reminder letters all the time.
However, the last Hammond home has sold and we have hammond people on the board. They did not perform their obligations before and I surely don't expect them to now.
