Last night we were leaving Parkwest at 6:30PM. It was raining lightly. Luckily the gates were closed. As I approached the gate, a walker in a black warm-up crossed the street in front of me and I missed her only by inches. We then drove to have dinner at a friend?’s home in CircleC and a jogger in dark clothing ran across the street (this time not so close). Talked to my neighbor this morning and he said he had a close call with a jogger yesterday morning. Walkers and Joggers WAKE UP!! WEAR SOME LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING IF YOU?’RE GOING TO BE IN THE STREET IN THE DARK!!!
Another street safety issue

Bike lanes are for bikes. Walkers and joggers belong on the sidewalks. It is reckless and irresponsible for foot traffic to be in the street. AND, the heighth of irresponsiblity are the foolish parents(?) who put children in grave danger by pushing stollers within a few feet of lethal machinery. I witnessed a woman jogging in the bike lane next to the curb with her stroller closer to traffic, she was holding her cell phone to her ear with her right hand and guiding the stoller singlehandedly with her left.
Think people!!! Escarpment is not a quiet residential street.
Imagine the future!

Just think of what it will be like in just a few short weeks when the South Escarpment extension opens?! Get ready for the drag strip!

Traffic patterns

Once an HEB is open at Escarpment and Slaughter (or South Laughter as my daughter calls it) I would expect more traffic down Escarpment.

But in the meantime, I'm not so sure. For a motorist at 1826 and SH45, if they want to go to the Y, they'd stay on 1826. If they want to get to Slaughter, they'd stay on 45/Mopac. I guess if they want to get to CC-North, they would take Escarpement, but how much traffic would that be? Or is there a destination I'm missing. Soccer players from Hayes Co heading for the park?

I suppose golfers that live in CC would use it.

Respectfully,
Mike
