Bob - Cancer of the New Board

Bob Alexander?’s resume is quite impressive if all the information in his resume is true. However, Bob is obviously a friend of our old Board. I, therefore, urge all of you NOT to vote for him.

Please remember that we have been fighting very, very hard for almost a year to get to this point. We should be careful not to plant a cancerous cell in our new Board to create a lot of headache and obstacles to our new Board members.

Communications Committee is good

Bob Alexander's Communications committee has a lot of inovative and timely ideas and I trust he will lead the effort to begin implementing those changes, as board member or not.

Communication is the key to rebuilding our trust in the HOA, it's board, and the HOA staff. It is getting better, but it has a long way to go to catch up with the demands of our fast growing, tech-savvy neighborhood.

I only wish that Bob Alexander was more active in pushing the web site enhancements he talked about in his Nominee Q&A. As we have all seen though the last year, enlisting good talented people from our members isn't that hard, but getting their workproduct into place is another story all together.

We will all have a chance to see the 2003 budget in the next members meeting, but there won't be much time to comment on the 2004 budget. It's already spent for the first 3 months. We, the HOA members, should have been involved in this back in October.

When you see that Jim O'Reilly has a $180,000 plan to upgrade the only pool we have, you have to wonder where that kind of money is going to come from. Another Special Assessment or a Pool Fund Drive ?!

We desperately need another Pool plan for the future - one we can afford. One that includes using renewable energy (Solar heaters, perhaps).
