Southwest Trail and Greenbelt Planning Workshop ''Blazing a New Trail''

Saturday, October 2, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Lady Bird Johnson National Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Avenue, Austin

Participatory workshop hosted by UT School of Architecture & Community Planning Dean Dr. Frederick Steiner and endorsed by 27 neighborhood associations, environmental groups and businesses.

Imagine a continuous greenbelt trail stretching from Town Lake through Zilker Park, past Barton Springs, southwest all the way to the LBJ Wildflower Center and beyond, into the Texas Hill Country. Such a scenario might actually be possible if a new community planning effort bears fruit.
Learn about current and future trails, bikeways, safe routes to school, zoning and trail building success stories, and then help shape a trail that will link two of Lady Bird Johnson's greatest legacies to Austin. Experts and the general public will meet in a planning workshop to create trail and greenbelt connections between the Barton Creek Greenbelt and the Wildflower Center, and beyond!

Lunch is complimentary for those participating in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Reserve your space quickly via Evite

http://www.evite.com/brandi_clark@yahoo.com/SWGreenbelt

(RSVP required for meal & you can specify in the Evite RSVP vegetarian/vegan/other special dietary needs).

Visit www.swgreenbelt.org for additional information. E-mail swgreenbelt@austinaction.org if you have questions.

NOTE: Circle C Ranch, Circle C Landscape Co, and Stratus Properties will all be participating.

Circle C Ranch has a lot of new trails proposed and many will be extended in the next year. These hike and bike trails are the second most important amenity to our neighborhoods and one of the most important ways we share greenspace with our neighbors. Stop by, even if you can't stay the whole day. It's right in your backyard, after all!
