Too Little Too Late

I'm glad the BOD is revoking the $100/month 10-year leasing contract with Steve Bartlett. I'm also happy that the landscape maintenance contract will finally be bid. I'm happy for the lucky residents who get the $3.00/year reduction in association dues (and hope that the special assessments won't be too high).
Why now-just before the Feb. 3rd meeting? Why not 5 years ago?

About ''your'' pool....

Speaking about ''your'' pool, last year we residents were asked to complete surveys about what we wanted with respect to the pool. Have those results ever been made public? NO, and here's why:

Of those who were surveyed and provided input about Circle C Swimming, the for-profit swim club partially owned by Bradley -- over 80-90% stated get that swim team out of here! I know, I saw the data.

What was the response? ''Our'' pool was turned over to the UT swim team for their use!!! So, a state-funded school gets to use our pool for -- according to the recent CCHOA financial statements -- up to $30,000 year payment of a pool that costs $250,000 year to maintain. Wow. What a deal for them. What a slap to us residents. Not only do our taxes go to UT, but now our dues pay for their swim team too!!

This is why we need 9 directors on the board, to police such a complete disregard for what the neighbors expressly told us they wanted, for turning over our most prized asset to Bradley, and for using our dues to subsidize the wants of a handful of autocrats.

Take back our pool. Take back our HOA.
