It?’s time to look to the future and quit dwelling on the past. The neighborhood is on the mend, and hopefully some newcomers will step up to the plate and run for directors next month. Here are a few things I would like to see addressed by the newly-expanded board of directors to help our neighborhood association:

?• An immediate, thorough audit of all books, contracts, insurance and other transactions, followed by a comprehensive opinion and set of recommendations for any necessary improvements

(Let?’s put to bed once and for all questions whether current business transactions are appropriate or whether we?’re getting the most for our money; aren't you getting tired of hearing all the points/counterpoints? Let's settle them and move on)

?• Debate and discuss the proposed Code of Ethics currently before the neighborhood; if it?’s fine, vote on it; if not, improve it and then vote it in and require ALL leaders of the HOA ?– directors and committee members - to sign it

(Let?’s restore belief in our HOA by pointing to a code of ethics that our leaders agree to abide by, as well as demand mutual respect between leaders and residents)

?• Increase the dissemination of neighborhood information to the maximum extent possible ?– an informed electorate is a happy electorate!

(Let?’s revise the ?“official?” Circle C website to make it exclusively ''our'' website; bring back the CCHOA email list; promptly post minutes from all board and committee meetings; provide comprehensive and timely access to all HOA documents, books and records)


These items are not intended to be critical of anyone. Rather, I truly believe that implementing these (and other items) will go a long, long way to repairing some rifts in the neighborhood and can only make our piece of land an even better place to live. Please give them some thought.

New to Circle C

I'm new to Circle C, but after reading all of these posts, I'm very interested in getting involved in affecting some change with the current administration.

Do I have a voice or a vote? I guess I'll keep an eye out here on how I can participate.

Honest People

Chris,
We are looking for change here at Circle C. We are not about stacking the deck. We don't have a slate of candidates we are backing. We aren't about manipulating an election with builder's votes.

You don't need any special qualifications. We want intelligent people who are not about power. We want directors who are willing to sign a Code of Ethics. We want directors who will listen - people who welcome our input, questions and concerns. We want people who LOVE DEMOCRACY to run for the five directors' positions we recently fought for and won. (Oh, and by the way,the ''old'' Board told us no one would be interested. Now we hear there are at least 9 running!)

Take a walk down your block and meet your neighbors. Remind them that their association needs them to attend the Candidates' Forum at Kiker on Thursday of this week at 7 pm. Remind them to vote or call 301-5160 to let us vote for them. It will be interesting to see how many of the 9 will be there. If they are the kind we are looking for, they will be.
