Grab that anchor Wally!

Wally,

Congratulations, It looks like someone grew some ''cahones''.

But, the point you have missed is very simple.

Our HOA is not a private company. It is a nonprofit corporation that we are all members of. The members, homeowners are owners of the CCHOA.

But the old board has treated the HOA as their private club. Last year not calling people back that wanted to be on committees. This year putting committees together, with their friends at the helm of course, but ''setting aside'' the work of the committees.

Being a members of that corporation, every homeowner has the right to vote them out. That is what the neighborhood is doing. That is why we expanded to 7 board members. People are tired of the deals and special interests coming first. It's time the homeowner comes first. The pool is ours. The swim team can go elsewhere. It's nice that the swim team does not bother you. But last years survey (that the board wanted to keep secret) revealed numerous comments to get the swim team out of our neighborhood. Out of our pool.

Ethical behavior that is expected when my money is involved. Your tired old excuse: ''It costs to much to bid out contracts, we'll just give the contracts to Susan Hoover.'' REALLY? Not for long. People are speaking up with their votes Wally. Nobody buys that crap here.

HOA's around the county don't give contracts to friends, they bid them out. Get a clue. Say it with me E..T..H..I..C...S

That's almost as sad as Rigsbees excuse for not wanting more than 3 BOD. He said it would cost more to make xerox copies for additional directors.

If there is nothing to hide, why has O'Reilly been hiding? Why won't he answer these simple questions about the land deal he had with Stratus?

Our BOD are not to financially benefit from their positions.

1. How much did you pay for the acre of land on Mopac?
2. When did you purchase it, and from who?
3. How much did Stratus pay you for this land in October 2003?
4. Will you provide the members with all documentation to support your answers?

Wally, I admire your....um...courage?.... to step up and grab hold of that anchor while on it's way down.
Take a Pill

Wally,
Why do YOU read this ''one-sided hater's forum''? Sounds like you need to take a chill pill go away someplace (far away) and get lots of rest. It's obviously hard on your blood pressure to read this forum so resist the urge and save yourself some stress.

I'm SURE you can explain away everything the BOD has or has't done.
Well, you've heard the old saying ''What goes around comes around.'' The truth hurts.

We don't expect perfection from a BOD but we do expect openness, integrity, honesty and sound financial management. We deserve it and we WILL get it. Soon.

The old BOD did some good things and some shady things. We thank them for the good things. We are sorry the power went to their heads. It's time for a new BOD. Goodbye and thanks, but NOT for everything!

CCHOA Suggestion Box - here !!

If you can't take the heat, you stay out of the kitchen.

The CCHOA kitchen is getting pretty hot these days. It needs to. There are big issues to address and more problems than ever. I'm happy to see that the board is going to get some long needed help from a growing list of talented and energitic nominees. We can't afford to ignore or keep pushing off issues to ''the next meeting''.

We can find answers and we have a the advantage of a highly educated and Internet accessable membership. We desperately need an interactive CCHOA web site and we should hesitate to move forward in the direction quickly.

CCHOA has already published on neighborhood survey - I say we should have one every month!

The pool survey made it pretty clear that it's not serving the needs of the community. I'd agree that it's pretty, but it's not affordable and giving it to a swim team doesn't help much. We don't need bragging rights, we need amenties that are convenient to all the Circle C Ranch residents.

What's wrong with running CCHOA like a business? It's a corporation and it has a huge budget. I think we should have more control over that budget and where that money is going. Even if everything in the past 18 year was done right (and I'm not saying it was), it's high time we straightened out the office, the records, and the special interests.

Getting more people involved is the first step and that's going well with so many people volunteering to run of a board position.

This web site is contributing, too, in it's own way. We serve our community like an editorial page in the paper, only faster and un-censored. We are also the CCHOA SUGGESTION BOX, too!

Feel free to disagree all you want - that's what we are here for.

The good news is that BIG and WONDERFUL changes have already taken place as a direct result of the posts on this web site!

I'd welcome a CCHOA chat site without anonymous posts, too! Both serve a useful purpose.

one sided suggestion box

Hey Sal,

Why dont you run for the board, instead of the constant barrage of accusatory email posts. you could actually say something in a public forum (where there are real live humans present) for once.

here is my basic problem with you and this board. One or two people write a huge percentage of the messages here. its like your little haters club. i rarely read or post on it for that reason.

You hate the BOD, so much, here's your chance to get out from behind the PC and work in the light of day. put your name in the hat.

i am convinced that people like you and Lisa S. are all about tearing down, not building up, after following your antics. why dont you take the what, hundreds of hours that you must spend doing this crap, and put them to work in a productive way?

there is no point trying to convince you of anything, rather, only to show others who read this that there is another viewpoint to your never ending rants. You clearly take great pleasure in attacking people.

Mr Hodes, i respectfully disagree with your opinion about the end result of this website. My view is that many hard working folks have been slandered in this forum and attacked with half truths. at least you have taken the time to serve on a committe, and i can respect and appreciate that. i can tell you from my own interactions with many people that they perceive this board as a joke, and gave up on it long ago. this board is for the most part, self serving and very narrow in terms of perspective. Its like a suggestion box for one side of the street. my challenge to those who dominate this forum, would be to get over all this attack mentality, and move on.
