Austin City Council passed the zoning change required for Stratus Properties to go forward with their Escarpment Village shopping center, last night, without any opposition.

This clears the way for the H-E-B grocery store to go in.

Now, Trammel Crow will be seeking tenants for the other store sites, which now include two banks. It's not too late to get your ideas and suggestions forwarded, but I can tell you that there is a strong interest for Austin businesses from our neighbors.

Each store will be in it's own building, they have a certified aroborist to help them select the best trees to save, and the center will not have any 24-hour businesses.

Next week (June 17th at 6pm), the city will hold a public hearing on amendments to the AMATP (CAMPO) 25 year road plan, which include the specific changes to Escarpment Blvd. CCHOA and other neighborhoods asked for these chanaged to help calm the traffic flow, as Escarpment Blvd is built through the new shopping center.

The new plan calls for a 4 lane divided roadway (what we have along Escarpment in Circle C Ranch today) with sidewalks and a bike path on each side. This standard will be extend all the way north to Davis Lane.
