Baker Farm at Wythe Creek

6/1/07 Front Entrance - Good News!

Application Submitted!

We turned in our grant application on June 1, 2007, after getting our final estimate and evaluating our options. We still chose Landscape Designs by Tony as our landscaper, the same company we recommended at our last meeting in March.

We got some price concessions from Tony that enabled us to also cover the cost of activating the sprinkler system with the grant funding.

We worked with Shellae Blackwell from the Neighborhood Office to make sure our application was complete. You may remember her from the March meeting. She gave us high marks on the application and said it was well-written and very detailed.

A copy of the application will be posted to this site in the near future.

Next Steps

The Neighborhood Office Resource Committee will review our application at their next meeting on June 12. If the committee approves the application (which Shellae seemed to be confident would happen), it will then go to the Neighborhood Commission for final approval. Unfortunately, they won't have another meeting until July (they've already had their June meeting), so it will be a while before we have a final answer.

Installation Plans

Since we probably won't have approval until the end of July, we have decided to wait until fall to install the landscape design. August is NOT the time to plant around here - it's not good for the plants OR the gardeners!

We'll keep you posted as we get more information and approvals.
