It's that time of year when we are all thinking about landscapes, and the front entrance is no exception. In spite of our hard work last September, a number of juniper bushes that were transplanted did not survive. This year we want to replace them and continue to nurture the landscape. The bulbs are coming up and so far are looking healthy, beautiful and colorful.
Below is our proposed maintenance schedule for the remainder of 2008. We plan to meet about evey other week through June, then once a month thereafter. We have included dates in November and December but they may not be necessary.
We'd like to give as many neighbors as possible an opportunity to be involved with the upkeep of the front entrance. Please check your calendars and let us know 1 or 2 dates that you can commit to being there. If everyone helps out once or twice, no one person or group will be overburdened.
These are all Saturdays; time will most likely be in the morning but can vary to meet the schedules of those working that day.
April 5 - this coming Saturday, a few neighbors may be out there, weather permitting. Join in if you are able.
April 19 - Mulch Day - we will be spreading about 25 yards of mulch so we need a big group on this day.

Rain Dates will be the next day (Sunday) or the following Saturday.
The Neighborhood Yard Sale will be held Saturday, May 17. Last time someone made a great sign for the entrance. Does anyone still have that sign, or would someone volunteer to make one for us?
We are also considering some type of neighborhood cook-out or block party. The city of Hampton has grant funding available for these types of events. Suggestions are welcome!
