THE TERRY PUGH REDOS
The Pugh family ?“summer camp?” on Sea Lane is shaping up as the finest rehab in the BT since Bill Kuni redid his Arenas place. It resembles what was the Robinson place. It fits. It belongs. It?’s BT style at its best. It?’s quality in design and workmanship. The neighbors are pleased.
Terry, Kathryn, McKenzie and Tyler plan to spend June, July and August with us. Should they be considered as Family Grand Marshals for the Twenty Fourth Annual Barber Tract Home Owners Association Independence Day Parade and Watermelon and Lemonade Affair??
Their triplex on Marine is getting a new roof among other things. Terry tells us that the rehab will be in a Mediterranean style. The end result will be two, not three units. Completion is scheduled for midsummer.
THE CHENS ARE COMING, HURRAH, HURRAH
Robert and Vanessa Chen and Kelly (5) will be moving into the great rehab on Olivetas in early June. They were wandering the Barber Tract one Sunday some months ago and met the former Editor of this periodical, They asked about homes for sale. They were introduced to the owner of the Olivetas place and voila they now own it. Mark Lyon?’s design gives the Chens about 2,200 without putting another oversized structure in the BT. Your former Publisher got no commission. They will be welcomed by the BT ?“Welcome Wagon?”, AKA Julie Fitch, Newcomer Chair.
DE FRANCO REBUILD LOOKING GREAT
Dori and Jack De Franco hope to move into their rebuilt Vista del Mar home by the end of February. Interesting and classy details in the front facade and gateway.
VISTA DEL MAR OCEAN FRONT LOT IN ESCROW
The large lot in the 7300 block of Vista del Mar is in escrow again. Owner and price not known to our Real Estate Cub Reporter.
VALENTINES SECOND STORY
The addition to the Valentines?’ Monte Vista home is happening.
7415 VISTA DEL MAR IN ESCROW
This 2,579 square foot home has been sold to Betty Rose. Escrow is expected to close mid-March. The asking price was $1,175,000. That?’s $455 per square foot. That will cause some Barbarians to re-self-appraise their homes?— upward.
7400 VISTA DEL MAR
This seaside tear down has a new owner and approval of the La Jolla Community Planning Association to rebuild. Construction is forecast to start late summer after city and Coastal Commission permits are had.
ROGER CORNELL?’S NEW GATE
Again to prove that there is nothing too trivial for the BTT, we tell you that Roger Cornell is changing his wrought iron gate for a wooden one, the design of which matches the garage door. You read it here first!
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE CURBS
We?’ve seen more wheel chair accessible curb cuts in February than we?’ve seen in the history of the association. At Monte Vista and Dunemere, written in the new concrete where one expects to see the date and name of the contractor we have ?“Fitch, May 7, 1963?”, the date Julie and Charles moved in. You may find a ?“Z?” in a neighboring curb.
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT SURFTON PLACE?
Did you know that Fern Glen used to be named Surfton Place? See the name in the curb at Fern Glen and Vista del Mar. How trivial can this ?“rag?” get?
