Missed Collections or Complaints

Please do not report a missed collection until late in the day. In many cases, crews are simply
running behind schedule. If you have a private trash hauler, please contact them first. (If your
hauler does not resolve the issue, you may contact the county at 703-324-5230, TTY 711). If
the county collects your trash, please call 703-802-3322, TTY 711. Thank you.

Good Neighbor Policy:

Please keep your trash cans/recycle bins stored away and out of sight from after pickup to Wednesday afternoon putout. We have received complaints that some residents leave their lawn debris out several days before pick up and/or leave their trash bins in front of their homes or in sight of their neighbors. In the unfortunate event that you have a neighbor who accumulates large amounts of debris at their curb, the following is an excerpt from the Fairfax County website:” I have a neighbor who has had large piles of junk sitting out at the curb for weeks. Can the county do anything about this? Yes. Through the Clean Streets Initiative, the county's Solid Waste Management Program and the Health Department are working to address this issue. Under Clean Streets, the property owner is notified that the trash must be removed. If the property owner does not remove the material within 10 days, the county will remove it and bill the property owner. Call 703-246-2300, TTY 703-591-6435 to report a property under the Clean Streets Initiative program.” http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov
