I am a twelve year resident of Baywood Village #5. During that time I have had many wonderful experiences in this neighborhood. I have provided (at my own expense) an Easter Egg Hunt for many/most of these years here in #5. Last year I sponsered a Halloween party for my block, again at my own expense (although I had the help of my friend and neighbor, Kim Edwards.)
Recently the board of Baywood Village #5 was taken over by new residents, with an agenda. They decided to impose long since ignored (as in the entire 12 years I have resided here) deed restrictions. Allegedly, this was due to a home that had burned on Sunrise. This home was in ''severe'' disrepair and they were ignoring any attempts to get them within compliance was the hue and cry. Thus the restrictions were to be imposed. The restrictions are not all being addressed mind you, just the boat restrictions. When in fact, the resident in question showed up at a board meeting, he was told with a wink and a nod not to worry, after all, his attorney had been in contact with the board. Funny thing was, not one board member recognized him in the audience until 5 minutes of discussing him had occured. What is more, he told me, in front of the entire room, that not once had anyone in Baywood #5 offered any help, UNLIKE Big Baywood, who had offered this help. When my husband stood up to make a plea for sanity, Mr. Charlie Primm of Gulfwinds Blvd. began heckling my husband by calling us both ''white trash''. The meeting went downhill from there. I left that meeting saddened by the whole affair.
I have since been praying for a healing within our precious community, hoping that by remaining quiet and loving, this would pass over. Well, apparently, Mr. Barsky, Mr. Eide and the rest of the board are so full of anger they cannot let things calm down. There was a party yesterday for the #5, we chose to abstain, as we did not want to celebrate with such unkind thoughts being sent our way. I was called by Mr. Ralph Staub, who when I expressed that, assured me that no one felt that way about us. Funny, he forgot to mention that the attornies were busy preparing a suit against us! Not 5 minutes ago, my doorbell rang and there stood a gentleman serving my husband and I with papers.
What is our crime? We have had the audacity to park our boat on a lot next to our home, that is empty. We have the lot owners permission and we have no available space on our own property, without extensive and expensive changes that simply are not in our budget at this time. Mr. Primm you told us to take our ''white trash'' selves out of here, you will be pleased to know, that is now my saddened plan. The plans are to increase the restrictions, so Mr. Primm you may want to reread them, after all your pets exceed the legal number.
Further note, my sons are both straight A students, who win citizenship awards. What a great civics lesson this is for them. It is shame that the parents of my sons friends (since birth) are serving on a board that would look to cause us harm.
