Water Spots/Stains

Jan 30, 2007

Have you noticed unexplained stains or spots appearing on your clothes? This has been a problem for several homes on Mangrove Avenue, who have had many unexplained ?“grease-like?” stains appear on their clothes after doing their laundry.

JEA was notified and came out and tested the water once at one house and found nothing. They said they had never seen anything like it before and couldn?’t help. Though it was explained that the problem was intermittent and didn?’t occur after every washing, a request for additional water testing was denied with the explanation that it couldn?’t be JEA?’s problem because there aren?’t enough people complaining.

This is a bigger issue than just spots on our clothes. If there is something in the water staining our clothes that means it?’s in the water that we?’re drinking too!

If this is a problem at your household, please make it known! Call John Burnam, Environmental Scientist at JEA at 665-4502.

Also, please call Donny at 434-6801 so he can track the number of complaints as JEA does not always return phone calls.
