For what it's worth. I spoke to someone the other day and the basketball hoop thing was brought up again. My understanding of the bylaws is that a tempory hoop is one that is 'portable' and that it must be put away out of sight each day or night 'when not in use'.

That's the key wording but it was a hot topic a year ago at one of our meetings I attended. It was so hot that the whole issue was handed off to the Architectural Control Committee for deciding what the wording meant. At one point it was brought up to maybe hire a lawyer to explain it for us.

Look, I don't want to be negative but I do have a penchant for looking at things in a different light, whatever you want to call it. I was told that the A.C.C. decided that the bylaw would be changed to read, 'not in use for 48 hours'.

I can only assume that the bylaw was changed to protect something here. If just one person was complaining about portable hoops being left out overnight and the Board didn't want to try to enforce the situation then I can guess it was easier to change the bylaw. I believe it was mentioned to me that it would also save on legal fees. Okay.

So, that's the end of it I suppose. If only one person is opposed to portable hoops being left out and there is no other resident having a problem with this, then it is not a big deal and we can drop the subject.

Don't just sit there and read this and grumble or talk behind our backs, tell it like it is so it is in writing, if you have any balls at all.
