Okay, it happened again and wouldn't you know it, right when I was expecting something important too. I go out my back door and let the dogs out and as I was letting them in and closing the door I notice the lady from the house behind me waving to me. I walked out the door and across the easement and she handed me two pieces of mail she received. We acknowledged that the mail person had done it again. I had recently received her mail and drove over to her street and put it in her mailbox for her that night.

The two pieces she gave me the other day were large envelopes with easy to read addresses on them. Everyone's first response is 'They must be new'. No, it's the same guy I see delivering the mail when I happed to be up during the day and see him come by. I'm going to have a talk with this person the next time I see him and ask him how it is so hard to make a mistake like this. I had been waiting a week and a half for this one package to arrive with some dog medicine. Thank God the dog got better on his own and I didn't need this right now.

I can't believe it. I went out and talked to the mail carrier last week after an envelope I was expecting with dog medicine was misdelivered to the street behind me. Two days ago I get an letter for my next door neighbor. This guy must be daydreaming instead of paying attention to the address on the mail. I intend to go to the post office and file a complaint with the postmaster. Who knows what I have not received. Mail delivery never used to be this bad and I see it only getting worse.

Monday, July 7th, 2008.  I retrieved the mail from the mailbox this morning after forgetting it Friday. I find a piece of mail inside a postal bag where the post office has mishandled the mail, again. As usual, it's a large document and the cover is torn off with part of the front page missing. I wish UPS or another carrier would take over this worn out government system. I never used to get any mail in this condition that I do now on a regular basis it seems. Do we have to use Tyvek mailers for everything now? Apparently we do. I'm just disgusted with the mail service again.  So, how's your mail lately?

I'm wondering if the county and or the city is not sending out some license tag renewals? The reason I say this is I'm thinking there is a new scam by our local government whereby they don't send out the renewal notices and you get ticketed for an expired tag and the city and or the county gets $80 for the fine. Unless you get to the tag office in a hurry and buy the renewal and present it to the clerk of circuit court in time.

Or, maybe the post office has screwed up once again. I hesitate to blame the mail carrier as he likes to blame the post office for not doing his sort correctly.

The wife didn't get her tag renewal and therefore her tag has been expired for over a month now. We don't have to remember these things because we're used to getting a renewal notice in the mail, on time, way beforehand. Not this time though.

Now she has to take time from her busy working day to go through the steps to avoid this fine. I ask why the deputy couldn't have just given her a warning. I mean, she doesn't have anything on her record. So, I can only assume one thing, since the local government has a budget shortfall they are coming up with these devious ways to collect more money from the us, the taxpayers. I wish I knew what really went wrong here as I don't want to point fingers but hey, it could be, right? Keep your guard up!
