For 2009 the Landscape and Legal has increased the most over all other items. Check it out from the Community Links page.

Does it make sense that at a time when our economy has gone down the tubes that the Landscaping Maintenace fees would go up? Firs thing that comes to my mind is we need to get some other estimates and quick. What is being maintained? If the common area grasses were greener than I would be happy but they're not. What's up with that? Are we fertilizing? I see the same area of grass on the right side of the first entrance has gone to hell this past year right after it was resodded. Why? Is the landscaping company even paying attention? Do they make any recommendations to the board? Is the board paying attention? What's going on?

the landscaping company is more  concerned with taking picture sof people not parked correctly and sending them to greenacre.

it appears that no one is concerned  with  the $ , no need to shop around, just pay whatever they ask......has anyone noticed the lawn people also fish here by the no fishing sign......;.

side note:  dog people in this community suck !  they take their dogs to the lake and let them crap everywhere without picking it up, so the rest of us can walk through feces to enjoy the view.  it like a cat litter box over there.....thoughtless people, to lazy to pick up after their animals !

How much is their services worth? Can we find a cheaper management company or companies? Do we have to have just one? How about contracting certain things out? Can't we find a hungry CPA that can do us better for the money or less money?

I too have felt that the board will just pay whatever is asked for certain items on the budget. I can say though that I was able to find a painting company for the wall for this past year, so no one can gripe that I didn't do anything even though I'm not a board member. I didn't get paid either and I didn't get any thanks but I did hope that it saved us from a large expense. Mike, do you know any CPA friends that might be able to manage our community that might want to put in a bid? I wonder when Greenacres contract is up?

Again, Miko, you give us new information we didn't know or at least I didn't. People need to be educated I guess. A regular newsletter would help. Gulp, I've been lazy, I should be working on one right at this moment. If only I could get more inspired...

Here's an idea, why not put some baggies in your pocket and walk over and hand a couple to some of these people and instruct them about how to pick up the dog crap and also explain how you don't like to walk in it. Let us know how that goes. Might be interesting. Cool

Two things that I noticed: They are budgeting for streetlight electricity-I called the county and they informed me that comes out of each homeowners tax bill from the county! Secondly-they said insurance had a big increase-if I'm reading the budget right-it was 400 and some dollars. Let's say 500.00. By insurance standards thats not a big increase at all! It's less than 5.00 per home. Coming from a community that used to have a 7,000.00 dollar surplus yearly, seems odd.
