Walking around the community recently reminded me of a question I would like to know the answer to. I know that the homeowner doesn't  "own" the sidewalk in front of their home but are required to maintain them. Be it cleaning or otherwise. I've been told they are county property. Who is responsible for the common area sidewalks? Do we call the county and complain? Certainly it isn't our ever observant board who is responsible. The side walks have black mold all over them. It really makes the entrances to the community look dirty. It's been that way for quite some time. A good pressure washing would do the trick. If you or I had that kind of build up certainly we would get a notice in the mail! Does anyone know who should be addressing this? Thank You!

hmmmmm????????? we might have to commit a sat / sun and do it ourselves rich......it would be nice for some of us to post here on our sight  maybe the machinery / tools etc. that we have in our personal arsenal (not to loan out necessarily,  but to use for the greater good  on community project days  :)  im usually selfish with our family time, but seeing u and paul that day was inspirational and a fine example !

p.s. we have a ton of elephant ears, the ones that get 6 feet tall, they are gorgeous and provide a real tropical feel in a corner or along a  back fence....the roots are bulbs with roots, and never prove problematic to relocate or remove.  i have a ton from 2 inches tall to 10 inches.  very hearty and user friendly........leave address and i can put some on anyones porch whose interested, would love to share, they r super!

Hey Miko, Rich, If I can remember I'll ask that this entrance sidewalk cleaning be put on the agenda for discussion June 29th. Miko, I hope you and hubby are planning on attending. We need all the support we can get from the community you know. As you suggest maybe getting some residents to pitch in to do this cleaning job, I believe we need to sit down and list the problems and set some priorities and present them before the board. If someone wants to form a committee to oversee these problems and follow up on them, that would be great. I feel we need a resident get-together night, to meet and talk and come up with solutions to the problems and work with the board. No one person or one group of people can do everything. With enough effort we can push forward and find more residents that are willing to allot some time to the common good here. What do you all think? I will still offer my house for a get together night. The only problem is getting the word out, either by signs or flyers.

Miko, Sorry it toke so long to reply but have been tied up since me and Paul got back from are vacation. It was so nice to get away. Bella Vista didn't come up once believe it or not. One problem with trying to clean the side walk ourselves-water restrictions! The only way would be to hire a professional. I'm sure someone will quote the water restrictions if someone ask at the meeting, however mold is a health concern and can be done by a pro just not by us. I'd be surprised if they are willing to have it done though as they haven't handled their own mold issues.
