so i guess since its been over a week, that the person who had a party for the precious little girl is just going to leave the balloon string on the sign for someone else to remove ?  they see it every day as they come and go.........LAZY  !  they knew when they took the balloons down that it was still there and i guess didnt care.......they really should not have used it anyway for their personal use, put a map in your invitation.  r their family and friends not able to read a map???????????????  guess ill have to remove it, like i pick up peoples trash all over the neighborhood...........this community is REALLY  going down hill!

Hello Miko, I feel your pain. Thanks God we don't have people posting and leaving their garage sale signs on the entrance sign walls. Where I used to live I was removing these signs regularly from a TECO electric box on my corner. People thought it was a community bulletin board. The sun would bake the tape and when you go to peel it off the paint came off with it. Over time you can imagine how nasty that box would look. I once saw a TECO guy painting the box and I walked over and asked him how often do they paint these. He said it's a full time job for him. It had been about seven years since that box was last painted and it could use another paint job right now.

I was once tracked down buy a guy just around Halloween. I took down his Halloween House invitation one year. He and his partner used to fix up their place and it was open to the public during Halloween. I guess it was pretty neat as it grew bigger year after year. I would drive by and notice it but I never stopped to check it out. Anyways, this guy must have seen me take the poster down and he came flying up and parked in my driveway and banged on my door and he let me have it upon opening it. He gave me all his justifications how he was doing this for the kids in the community and so on and so forth. I calmly stated to him that the box was TECO property and I was helping to keep it clean. He left pissed and I never seen another sign nor their house fixed up for Halloween thereafter.

You know, just a little bit of forthought and people could get a decent sign made up from a sign shop or craft their own and plant it in the ground next to that box and I wouldn't have a problem. But nooooooo! It's too much trouble I guess.

I have this regular resident in the neighborhood who also posts their garage sale signs. It's got to be a ritual for me to get up early on a Saturday morning and go look for thier sign to be posted and I would take it down before the sun got too hot and baked the tape. I don't live there anymore so I don't know what's happened since to that box.

If it weren't for people like me and you the community would be in worse shape. So, I say let's band together and see what we can do to head off stupidity like this in the future. See ya' later.  Paul
