Haven't heard anything about a commuinty yard sale this year.  A few of us on montilla are all ready and set a date....we have 4 of us that will be setting up on May 8th.....anyone else wanna join in!  We talked and are looking to put it into the tampa tribune, craigslist and theflyer.

Can someone hang the commuinty yard sale sign up the monday before?? 

Funny you should ask. I was about to post the date and the event when you beat me to it. Rob had talked to me last week about you all wanting to do the garage sale on this date. I will hang the banner out either Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Rob had given me the banner about a month ago. Is someone taking up a collection for the Tribune and The Flyer ads? I plan to sit down and pound out a door-to-door flyer for Rob and Kim to take around to put on the doors. Hopefully I'll have this ready Monday morning or Tuesday to give to Rob.

I'm not a fan of doing garage sales but I do like to look and buy stuff when I find something I like.

Awesome!  I'm all about getting my junk out of my house two times a year :)  And the spring cleaning is complete in our household and stuff is ready to get OUT! 

Last I talked to Mel and Matt about this about two weeks ago she was going to look into the price and let us know.  I know they have been down with the flu, next time I see them out will ask!  I know last year we didnt put it in any papers or flyer, I just placed it on craigslist, and we put signs up everywhere and we had an awesome turn out! 

One person junk is another person treasure!!

I hate the flu. I always get my shot every year and it's worked. Still need to get the H1N1 shot though but might pass on it.

I emailed Rob the flyer I made up and then called him to follow up a couple of nights ago. I emailed the rest of the board members too. I will try to get the flyer uploaded here as a link on the front page in case anyone wants it.

Jeff Hastings, our newest board member emailed me to say that Craig's list and other avenues are free to advertise. I had forgot about Craig's list. Doesn't the Tribune and The Flyer offer free ads for garage sales also? Whoever decides to make up and submit an ad will need to let the rest of us know so we don't duplicat efforts. Sooner the better I guess.

I agree that we shouldn't have to spend any money on advertising. The banner hanging at the corner between the trees should do very well along with some of those little signs stuck in the ground at each entrance. Who is going to help with those little signs? I'm planning on hanging the banner the Sunday before.
