Here's a thought that just crossed my mind. Tell me what you think about it.

I've heard more than one person say that it would be great to have a clubhouse. Just think of what we could use it for. Birthday parties, sweet sixteen's, Friday Teen dance night, DJ Party, Family Renunions, Community get togethers, resident meetings, you name it.

So, what about the community buying one of the foreclosed homes to use as such? Okay, all sorts of negative connotations quickly come to mind. But, let's discuss them all. What would be the positives and what would be the negatives? How much would it cost each homeowner a quarter, a year in dues? What about the families that would be next to or near this house? Could this actually be something that could happen? How much of a need would there be if there was a possibility of this? Insurance, security, management, many more things to discuss.

Charging for the use of the clubhouse could help pay for it.

sounds like a nightmare, premises liability issues galore, one person falls and the hoa is on the hook,   noooooooooooooo

for that money we could become a gated community

Paul, I appreciate your time and thoughts however most home owners in Bella Vista do not maintain their own homes properly ie yards/driveways/paint etc. Do you really think they are going to contribute financially or time wise to a club house when they do not to their own??

Insurance!

Gated community? It would take a decade of putting money into reserves for that to happen and then some I think. I like the idea though.
