Notes from the President
By Jim McGrath
Summer is over, and we never seem to get all the projects done that we had hoped. Now that school is back in session, please watch out for the children crossing streets going to busses and walking to Harmon MS.
I know that many of you are wondering what has been happening with the lawsuits that were initiated by the Association. The fence suit, which was heard over a year ago, we still have not gotten an answer from the Magistrate. No wonder the legal system is so slow. According to our attorney, the green house suit was delayed by the homeowner temporarily, but now has been reset to start later this month. Once we get some type of resolution on either of them, I will post it on the website, and put it in the next newsletter. And yes, we did try to negotiate with both of these before having to go to court and spend the money. Believe me, we do not like having to enforce our restrictions and regulations, and would hope that our homeowners will just do the right thing and abide by them. If you feel that something needs to be changed, then please let us know. Come to a meeting, voice your opinion.

Social Committee News
By Andrea Turner
I hope everyone had a good summer. I am sorry the picnic had to get cancelled. Unfortunately, we didn?’t have enough RSVP?’s to hold the event. The next event we are planning on having is a fun day at Magic Mountain on Monday, September 9th from 5-9 p.m. Please look for the flyers to go out. Hope to see you there.
Architectural Control Committee
By Craig Turner, Chairman & Board Member
Thank you to all those who submitted the required information for approval of decks, fences, etc. Also, we would like to thank those homeowners who removed items, when asked, which were not in compliance with our deed restrictions.
Communications Committee
The communication committee has a variety of responsibilities, including distribution of information to all our homeowners. Please thank the following people for volunteering to walk or ride the various newsletters, flyers, and phone directories to your door or mailbox; Carla Searfoss, Billy Kelly, Lori Goddard, Terry Egan, Colette Goddard, Beverly Zurhorst and Stephania Wilson. We have 7 people distributing, and 2 ladies (Thank you Megan Snare) folding and stuffing bags. One more helper could be used in this area. Sharon?’s ongoing projects include updating the community map and phone directory. If you see an error in the phone book, please call so the master listing can be updated.
In order to reduce debris from the wind blowing bags
off mailboxes, we are going to try to install hooks, replacing the shorter screws and nails. If you are replacing your own, please place them a few inches below the mailbox bottom to prevent skinned knuckles. Also, if your mailbox got mushed during the last year, this would be a good time to try to get it patched-up before winter comes and the snowplows destroy it altogether!
Grounds
Sharon is also our grounds trustee. She is responsible for insuring the common areas are properly maintained. The summer application of weed and feed has just been applied. Grass is being cut on an ?“as needed?” basis because of the weather. We are very pleased with our new company and will continue to clean up the common areas.
On a special note; Thank you to the Burke and Mahan families for allowing us to put our monthly signs in their yard. The bridge connecting Thoroughbred drive to Mallard Pond is now complete. Please thank Curt Anderson, John Lach and Doug Jaskari (with son Michael) for donating their time and use of equipment. We appreciate their community involvement. The bridge was constructed at minimal cost because the Turos family donated much of the wood.
