Loitering & Crime

Posted in: Berry Valley

Hello Community,

I'm looking at potentially living in this community.  I would like to know your opinion on crime, loitering (teenagers playing in the streets etc...) and any other annoyances that would make you think twice before buying a home here.  I'm looking at the townhouses near Tallahassee Pl.  Please be as open as possible.  Thanks.

We have a nice community in General. However lexington drive is a busy rd and gets a lot of transients using it as many cut through to get the schools off Davis Dr.  Our gazebos were vandalized so many times that the hoa thought it cheaper to remove them overall BV is a nice place, but there is no community pool or place for kids to go in the summer time. this leads to some "loitering".

  • Respect-O-Meter: Active Neighbor

I can't speak for those living in townhomes but we also have situations where neighbors (mostly renters) who like to have parties 2-3 time a month and their party attendees like to to either park or block driveways, can't park on street correctly causing passing through difficult, are loud, rude and disrespectful to others and their properties.  We also have those (recently residents) that use the adjoining fences for hanging out laundry, and have rude teenagers with cars with music blaring.  But the Hoa can't/won't do anything and Sheriff Department tries their best to catch "bad actors."  HOA won't address issues about neighbors with more vehicles than drivers with cars that don't move for days, weeks or months. HOA fees are higher ($74.23 per month) than most HOAs and single family homes get nothing for it except trash removal which can be done cheaper even self with taking trash to landfill.
