To homes for sale
I agree with this person. Think about it. We were told last year how the HOA did a great job collecting and we had very few people outstanding with the dues. We also did not have a bunch of homes for sale last year. Many of these homes have been sitting on the market for a long time and are not moving. People are coming through these homes and stating they do not have the money to buy (makes you mad when they come and look and say they don't have the money to buy - why are they wasting the home sellers time). The market is truly in a slump in Columbus and even new home sales are down. We did not have even close to 30 homes for sale at one time last year. I like my neighbors and do not believe that they are scum just because they are not paying their dues. If I received a list of names of people who did not pay and saw my neighbor who also has a great yard, I would wonder what else is going on that they are not sharing (job loss or other personal issues), possibly because they do not want someone to know they are having a hard time and have to live up to the high standards of people who say they shouldn't have moved here in the first place. People truly are mean on this site and do not take hard times into consideration. They only see things as black and white. If something happens to you one day and you are in this situation, how do you deal with it? Do they need to stop going outside because their neighbors are going to think they are scum because they cannot afford to pay their HOA dues for the first time and someone wants to make a big stink about it. Personal contact needs to be made with these people or other attempts before you decide to post someone's name. This will help someone who may never have been on this list before because they were in a better position.
Maybe give them options on their bill or in a letter to call Rickert and let them know they are having trouble (but Rickert will keep it confidential from the residents). Letting Ricket know they owe this but are having issues right now would seem appropriate.
