The GACC (Greater Arlington Civic Council) oposes the extension of any runway at Craig Airport. Our 2010 Comprehensive Plan states that "The City shall continue to support the maintenane of Craig Airport in its current role as a General Utility Reliever Airport; provided, however, that no further expansion of its runways shall be permitted." JaxPort is trying to extend a runway to 6,000 feet. The Arlington residents have nothing to gain. This is designed to accomodate corporate jets for the sake of convenience. Larger props, turbo props and jets will be able to use the new runway.
