Oversized vehicles and cars parked on our streets

Posted in: Blendon Woods

Please be aware that where you park your vehicle affects your neighbors.  We had an incident this morning on Swingley when the school bus could not get to the designated pick up spot due to a Penske truck being parked on one side of the street and two cars being parked parallel to the truck on the other side.  Parents were knocking on the doors of the homes that were believed to be in possession of the vehicles, but couldn't get anyone to answer the door.  The bus driver stated that she was going to call the Columbus Police to have the vehicles towed, and it could take up to 45 minutes for a tow truck to arrive.  Obviously we didn't want our children being even later to school, so we ended up helping the bus driver back all the way down Swingley and exit the neighborhood off of Panorama.  If parking in your garage or driveway isn't an option, please be cognisant of how the location of your vehicle impacts the flow of traffic on your street and make the decision to park somewhere else if needed.
