Thank you very much for your reply. I am glad that there is at least one other concerned resident out there. My wife and I are also dog owners. We have a small 10 lb dog, shitzu/maltise. We are responsible pet owners and do not allow him to roam free or excessively bark. I ran into the same road blocks as you. My wife contacted the police as well as the county and was told the same thing about the distance from the disturbance. I went so far as to take a drive into Bonnie Brae to locate the house. I think I know the street but unsure of the house. By chance I found this neighborhood website so I thought I would give it a shot. I sympathize with you for living next door to the barking dog. If I can hear it across the golf course then it must be unbelievably load for you. Since you are a resident of Bonnie Brae then I think you need to make the initial complaint to your HOA. I will gladly help you with this but I think we need to look at the following:
- Talk to your neighbors. Ask them if they want to do something about this issue. Get their names and address. Ask them to reply to these posts.
- Check you HOA rules and guidelines. I am sure there is something in there about barking and dogs must be on a leash.
- We need to keep a log of the time and date the dog is barking. You can make a recording on your cell phone as well. This is our "proof".
- Since you live within 200 feet of the disturbance then you can make the complaint to the police or county. Also, if you were bitten by one of the dogs you could have reported them.
Let me know you thoughts.
Thank you
