Crime Stats true or false?

I've offered the proof on the Community Watch web pages... when they said crime was down by double digits, who had more credibility? The guy with brass on his collar ... works days, goes to a lot of meetings ... and may have taken marching orders to remove Community Watch from ALL these community pages until a hand full of people fought back. Don't forget... they WERE REMOVED by a simple police request!

Now I see Community Watch has been moved to Community Info .. I guess Community Policing is the sole property of Art Venegas. ANOTHER distortion .. they preach "shared ownership and partnering" but only if you march in lock step with their distortions and myths.

Examine your elected representative ... when the Sacramento Bee published what I had long reported as triple digits increases in midtown crime, your council people went sreaming about "image" to Bee editors.

Who will stand by me at City Council in two weeks and ask why the city is afraid to answer the questions about police staffing and grant funds ... the 101 cops (we'll lose)they didn't hire with grant funds, proven by their own hand in reports to DOJ they thought we'd never get our hands on!!!!

A half dozen felons victimized midtown today, robbery, burglaries, assualt by a pair of would be car thieves (in a stolen car trying to steal another)all within a couple hours between 4 and 6 p.m. There were so few police, the best they could do was take reports ... not enough of them to clamp down of the robber who sauntered out of the Subway Sandwich Shop and faded into the mass of other criminals who've claimed our neighborhoods as their own. Two calls within 100ft of one another and not enough resources to do the job. Just a few weeks ago, we applauded officers for responding to alert citizens calls and catching the bad guys ... chances are they could be the same pair, out on bail from a failing court system and no room at the inn (jail) I asked the police if they had any breaks on the known car theft ring operating blocks away. Seems detectives didn't bather to tell patrol! But hey, crime is down ... they told you that.. just like Philidelphia, before an honest cop undid the lie!!! 14 other citys are following suit across America.

The sport of SPD seems to be attacking me and Community Watch. I report facts they won't refute, the chief refuses to meet with us and you!!! You reward their arrogance by moving us while leaving the politically correct, private non-profit, Crime Alert (compare our site's "Alerts" before you buy into that crap) Bottom line, we don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars like Safe Streets (now defunct) and Crime Alert. Look at Crime Alert and tell me why there are NO midtown parolees at large there, rape or murder suspects. NOT ONE SINGLE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT WANTED PERSON ... but hey, they are the choice YOU made!!!

Despite Phil's sense of betrayal, he worked for this community with me from 11p.m. to 6 a.m. for the last four days in trying to bag another career criminal who just got out of jail. We've almost had this guy twice in as many weeks. There are no police available to work this serial criminal... any more than when Captain Busch refused to help us with graffiti. Will they be embarrased into it ... likely so, again.

We fought back then! Where is that voice now... silent but willing to betray a friend by caving into their demands. A Center that has served this community with an unblemished record in court, been your spokesperson before judges and DA's is shuffled between a tourist attraction and planning projects. Ahh ... but Community Policing is safe at last Take the final step and don't insult us further ... remove us altogether ... this battle's lost!

The Truth about crime data

crime in california is Down 12% accoring to a Dpartment of Justice (DOJ)report released yesterday.

It is important to note that this data was compiled by ex-A G Lungren -- who would never in anyone's wildest dreams minimize the amount of crime.

Major stories today: Jeff Collins : Orange Cunty Register; Sam Delson: Riverside Press; Stephen Green: Sacramento Bee; Bill Ainswerth: san diego Union; Lynda Gledhill: SF Chronicle. Can all be found at www.rtumble.com

Perhaps this will help stop the false roumers that ruin people's perseptions of their neighborhoods and their trust in their police department.

Truth?

1) Lungren doesn't make up the numbers, they are reported to DOJ and the FBI. You don't dispute the Philadelphia disclosure because its a fact, as it has been found in Boca Raton and Atlanta.

2) I trust street cops! They don't dodge the truth at public meetings when bosses are asked POINT BLANK how many cops do we have on the street and the Deputy Chief answers, "how many would you like?" There's the distrust sir!!!

3) A street cop will tell you, that in your neighborhood, much of the crime goes unreported. I know many members of BPNA that have been victims of crime yet didn't want to put up with the hassle of voice mail reports.

4) Learn the truth, I'll bet most people won't know how many people in this city lost their life to crime this past month. Take a guess and I'll provide you with the stats.

5) Since you have so much faith in newsprint, do you refute the Sacramento Bees proof that crime in midtown was up when city fathers said it was down?

Before you use the term "False Rumors", you had better check for the facts first. You believe DOJ's PUBLISHED report that Sacramento hired 439 new officers toward the President's goal of 100,000? Click on DOJ's report and read it for yourself

By the way, another report released yesterday, says weapon crimes in schools are up 12% and that figure along with under-reporting by school officials has a lot of people concerned. You notice that Attorney G Bill said rape was up in Sacramento only because more women are reporting it ?????

But Joe Bob ... feel safer tonight, the Oak Park woman's killer was busted about half an hour ago, 5:30 a.m. There were three robberies at dinner time last night but just one murder. Meanwhile, a CHP officer just had his car stolen. THAT will get reported! I'm off to bed now, after 11 hours on patrol in YOUR neighborhood and training a new watch member. Doubt that too? ... call SPD and have them read Call # 8348 to you. We try... more than some.

Get a grip Joe Bob

You like Dan Lungren so well, why not quote his other numbers: "Violent crime in California in the last thirty years is up by 336% and all crimes by 485%" 'Crime and Delinquency reports' last several years.

Is Dave over-bearing, lacking in the social graces, politically incorrect? All of that and more. But you can't fault his facts and the research that bucks the mainstream and pisses people off. I've seen his work - like him or hate him - it's on the money and I've never seen him lie - more than I can say about some folks in cityhall.
