General manager Bottiggi awarded five division managers within BELD bonuses because ''we had a good year which is why I decided to do this''. If they had a bad year, would he penalize his division managers?
One of the managers has been on the job one year and gets a bonus that is the equivalent of another manager who has been on the job for over twenty years? Previously, it was called Longevity similar to other local unions, but employees would have to work more than ten years to qualify for minimum Longevity and usually twenty years for maximum Longevity payments. Another manager was fined by the Ethics Commission for accepting gifts from BELD contractors. That manager got a bonus no different than his peer managers who either weren't caught or didn't accept similar gifts that are a violation of ethics in public sector employment.
The General Manager who has been on the job since last Summer gets a $10,000 bonus ''for doing his job'' as voted by the give away BELD Commissioners, so they obviously had no problems with the five other managers accorded gift bonuses?
Bottiggi is quoted in the article saying, ''We have goals that we establish, getting projects done, safety goals, budgetary goals''. How can a personnel director be compared to the operations manager with respect to safety, budgeteary goals, getting projects accomplished?
BELD has shamed Braintree ratepayers once more. When will this cattle car of giveaway nonsense be thoroughly investigated and a stop put on all this garbage? BELD needs the State Auditor to intervene for misuse of ratepayer receipts. I am sick of this crap.
